Mission, Vision, Values

Aspen Dental’s mission, vision and values

From treating every patient like our very own mother to knowing it takes the entire team to get the job done to making sure we are listening to patients, our values are on full display every day. Below is a complete list of the words we live by – day in and day out.

We’re giving America a healthy mouth

At Aspen Dental, we bring affordable, quality care to communities that need it. From small towns to city suburbs. And everywhere in between. We’re changing how the industry does business. So patients get the care they deserve. And professionals get the career they want.

We’re providers with purpose.

Dentists with drive.

Over five thousand strong and growing.

And, of course, smiling.

  • A healthy mouth equals a healthy business.

The more we make care accessible, the more mouths we can treat. The more mouths we can treat, the more we can invest in the business. The more we can invest in the business, the more we can expand our care. The more we can expand our care, the more we can give back to the community. Because the more we take care of people, the more the business takes care of itself.

  • We love a challenging mouth.

We love working on a mouth that needs some serious work. We love the mouths with 32 teeth, the ones with no teeth, and every mouth in between. We love helping the patients who need the most help. We love giving a troubled mouth a helping hand. We love taking on each and every mouth that walks through our front door.

  • We treat every patient like our own mother.

We believe dental care should be as caring as possible. We believe in talking with our patients, not at them. We believe that a little kindness goes a long way. We believe that the little things we do for people every day are a pretty big deal to them. We believe the only way to treat patients is by treating them like the most important people we know.

  • We don’t just treat the mouth, we listen to it.

We listen to questions. We listen to concerns. We listen to jitters, we listen to nerves. We listen to self-diagnoses, even those that may come out of left field. We listen in order to learn. We listen in order to solve. We listen because it makes us better at what we do. We listen because it speaks volumes to the people we treat.

  • As dental professionals, the last thing we want to do is sugarcoat anything.

We’re big fans of the truth. We’re straight shooters. We’re for direct. We’re for frank. We’re for starting an uncomfortable discussion to stop an unhealthy situation. We’re one part tough, one part love. Because we’re confident patients will trust us with their mouths when they know we have their best interests at heart.

  • For every mouth there is a solution.

We work with patients to find fixes for the fix they’re in. We work around roadblocks. We work around schedules. We work around budgets. We work with insurance and with no insurance. We work to make sure working folks can afford it. We work to be creative, innovative problem solvers. We work this way because we know there are many roads that lead to a healthy mouth.

  • There is no “I” in Aspen.

This is a job too big for one person. Or ten people. Or a hundred people. This is all hands on the dental deck. This is a mission where everyone has to buy in, pitch in and work as one. This is about treating each other as well as we treat our patients. This is work built on teamwork. This is all of us coming together to help one mouth at a time.

  • Every mouth deserves a second chance.

We understand that going to the dentist can slip to the bottom of the to-do list. We understand why people haven’t had a visit in a year. Or two. Or 10. We understand that for millions of people it’s become too expensive, too hard and too frustrating to make it work. We understand there’s a lot to overcome. We’re just glad they’re finally here to do something about it.

  • We do business the same way we dentist: open wide.

We’re in favor of doing things out in the open. We’re in favor of clear pricing over hidden surprises. We’re in favor of encouraging second opinions because we’re confident about our first opinion. We’re in favor of being transparent 24/7/365. We’re in favor of acting like there’s nothing to hide, because, well, we’re not acting.

  • Anything close to excellent isn’t.

We’re in favor of doing things out in the open. We think that great service is a good thing. We think the patient-first model is something to believe in. We think that total mouth service is way better than lip service. We think taking pride in our work is reflected in every patient’s healthy smile. We believe in striving for perfection, because anything less is, well…less.

Environmental responsibility from the offices down to everyday procedures

We like this world of ours. So you’ll notice our commitment to the environment everywhere, from our office design to our equipment and operational procedures.

Our use of LED lighting, dry-vacuum systems and clean compressors conserves energy while preserving natural resources. The use of digital radiography and amalgam separators eliminates mercury and other hazardous waste from our disposal process. Even our central Practice Support Center is LEED certified.

All of which contributes to a better world, not to mention a better work environment.
