Dentist, Specialist, and Support Jobs in Texas

Everything’s bigger in Texas, especially the opportunities.

Few states are as distinctive in geography and personality as the Lone Star State. It includes two of the top five biggest cities in America, Dallas and Houston, along with the culturally thriving capital of Austin. Big cattle ranches, wide-open skies and endless prairies spread out across the state – even its national park is called Big Bend. Its economy is big, driven by the presence of half of the Fortune 500 companies in Houston. Its school system has some big names. In fact, the only thing that isn’t big are the taxes. Can you say yee-haw?

Check out these exciting areas below or scroll down to view some golden opportunities in Texas:

Austin

The fourth-largest city in Texas, Austin has experienced a big population surge over the past several years. Hosting over 100 live music events every year, Austin is a dynamic and creative city. It is also home to the University of Texas. Located among beautiful landscapes and gorgeous lakes, Austin is the heart of Texas.

West Central Texas

West Central Texas stretches from Fort Worth to the border of New Mexico and has more space and fewer people than does the rest of Texas (which suits many residents just fine). Abilene and Midland are the main metropolitan areas and logistical hubs. This fast-growing region also includes San Angelo south to Abilene, which is most commonly known for being the home of numerous art-focused establishments. Many traditional Texas attractions, such as the rodeo, high school football and country music, are popular here.

Dallas

Dallas is Texas’ sophisticated cowboy. The shopping and dining opportunities are arguably the best in the Southwest, the professional sports teams are world-famous, and the quality of life will make anyone fall in love with this ultramodern and booming metropolis.

Eastern Texas

Stretching east from Dallas to the Louisiana border, East Texas has a diverse geography, including more vegetation and woods than in the rest of Texas plus multiple rivers and nature preserves, making it a great place for outdoor activities. There are a handful of good colleges in this region, and athletics are popular, with collegiate and high school sporting events drawing big crowds. Culture includes country music and swing dancing as well as Cajun or Creole influences from Louisiana. The region boasts several appealing small cities such as Longview, which was named one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People by America’s Promise Alliance in 2008.

Odessa

In 2014, Forbes ranked Odessa as the third-fastest-growing small city in America. This is likely due to its affordable cost of living, pleasant lifestyle and growing economy. Once a classic oil town, Odessa has an economy that has expanded to include other industries. Like most small Texas cities, Odessa has decent shopping, dining and other amenities along with widespread support for its school system and high school athletics. In fact, the film and TV show “Friday Night Lights” were inspired by a football team from Odessa.

San Antonio

San Antonio, located in southern Texas, is the seventh most populous city in the U.S. Commonly referred to as Greater San Antonio, the metropolitan area has a population of more than 2 million people and was rated the fastest-growing of the top 10 largest cities in the country. Some of the most popular attractions throughout the city are the Alamo, the River Walk, SeaWorld and Six Flags Fiesta Texas.

South Texas

South Texas is a vast area that consists of 44 counties and stretches from the Mexican border to the northern area above San Antonio and east to Houston. Like many regions in Texas, South Texas is characterized by strong Hispanic influences that have helped shape the culture of this region. The Gulf Coast is particularly popular, offering great beaches, deep-sea fishing and a nice escape from the summer heat.
