Vice President, Leadership and Professional Development

The Vice President, Leadership and Professional Development is a critical role on the Learning and Development team ensuring the success of doctors, as well as the business leaders of ADMI from front line to senior leaders, in alignment with ADMI’s overall talent strategy.  The VP will be accountable for creating and executing on a comprehensive leadership and professional development roadmap and, partnering with executives and human resources professionals to ensure strategic alignment.


Areas of responsibility will include non-clinical development of doctors, oversight of continuing education efforts, and development of leaders at all levels for the purpose of maximizing their leadership potential, increasing performance, and embedding ADMI’s intended culture.  The VP will be responsible for leading a team of professionals specializing in leadership development, continuing education, and professional development in Chicago, IL, and Syracuse, NY, as well as partnering with other learning professionals outside his/her own team to execute.  He/She is a role model of leader behaviors.  


The VP has experience demonstrating leadership development’s impact on business results through data.  He/She is an excellent performance consultant and communicator who identifies the root cause in performance gaps, creates solutions to fill the gaps, and demonstrates the impact of those solutions. Orchestrating across Learning & Development, Human Resources, and collaborating with senior leaders in the organization, the VP will ensure the seamless execution of leadership and professional development efforts.  The VP is a strategic thought partner to the SVP, Learning and Development, must be hands-on with a willingness to analyze and build, unafraid to roll-up their sleeves and get projects done.


The VP acts as a consultant and requires close partnership with business leaders, HR leadership, and employees throughout the organization to ensure leadership capabilities drive and support business objectives. A successful leader will thrive in our dynamic and changing environment.

  • Ensure seamless execution of programs and process across the enterprise.
  • Craft the appropriate strategies and ensure execution of non-clinical doctor development, leadership development, and continuing education.
  • Partner with others to solve business problems and to executive on leadership initiatives.
  • Deliver short-term solutions while also solving for long-term problems by addressing immediate challenges and underlying causes.
  • Use data to measure success: learn, iterate, and improve; analyze trends and develop proactive actions to further support business objectives.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Education Level: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree preferred,
  • A minimum of 10+ years of relevant learning and development experience, ideally in a fast-paced organization with a distributed workforce.
  • A minimum of 5+ years leading a team of leadership development professionals.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment highly desired, but not required.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning and leadership development.
  • Strong capabilities in the area of data analytics, as it pertains to measuring learning, especially in leadership development.
  • Experience providing consultation to senior leadership on strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent influencing skills at all levels in the organization and extremely flexibility to be proactive in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
  • Experience in developing, implementing and monitoring programs/processes that drive business results.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel applications and company operational systems.
