We are a mission-driven team, dedicated to supporting the job performance of Aspen Dental team members and ensuring that practice teams are able to give patients the highest quality of care. This position reports to the Senior Director of Learning and Development.

 

We seek an instructional designer who is innovative, energetic, and committed to excellence.  You have experience developing instructional content for clinical and business operations audiences. You work well with cross-divisional project teams, and enjoy linking subject matter expertise in business leadership and clinical content to end-user needs. You’ll have a number of tools in your development kit, and be as experienced creating content for face-to-face training as you are developing multimedia modules for online delivery. You’ll have a diverse portfolio that showcases the right tool for the right task, and reflects current best practices in both formal and informal learning and development.   Your skillset will include up-front needs assessment and analysis and you’ll be able to complete all aspects of the design, production and evaluation of learning resources.  Finally, you’ll enjoy collaborating with a team of learning and development professionals with whom you can share great ideas and great work.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages assigned projects through the instructional design process including those supported by external vendor resources
  • Is aware of Human Performance Improvement theories and approaches instructional design with that mindset
  • Conducts job, task, and performance analysis to develop performance solutions and learning objectives
  • Designs and develops learning solutions using various media and tools to achieve learning objectives
  • Is comfortable developing solutions in multiple modalities, such as video, instructor-led, e-learning, mobile learning, social learning, simulations, and job aids
  • Gains agreement with key stakeholders on program outcomes and success metrics
  • Partners with subject matter experts to leverage and use knowledge
  • Partners across departments to design and deploy learning solutions
  • Develops evaluations and assessments to measure learning and performance effectiveness
  • Engages and interacts with learners and key stakeholders to test and validate instructional design methodologies
  • Uses evaluation results to improve learning solutions’ design and execution; shares best practices
  • Conducts focus groups and surveys to gather input and test theories and design
  • Collaborates with small and large teams to achieve goals
  • Selects and supervises outside vendor/contract resources
  • Understands the business structure of Aspen Dental Management, Inc.® and its role as a support service provider for the Doctors and their practices and is able to educate direct reports on this structure and ADMI®’s role.

 

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology or related field preferred. Master's degree preferred.
  • Job Related/Industry Experience: 5 - 8 years’ experience or more
  • Demonstrated application of instructional design and human performance improvement principles
  • Demonstrated design experience across learning modalities (ILT, eLearning, Virtual, Performance Support, Mobile, Social)
  • Experience with HTML, Captivate, Articulate or comparable software development tools
  • Experience with LMS preferred
  • Experience with LCMS desirable
  • Demonstrated project management skills; ability to meet deadlines and stay in budget
  • Experience with evaluation and measurement processes desirable
  • Able to travel (up to 20%)
  • This is an in-office position and is currently located in downtown/west loop Chicago
