Responsibilities

  • The IT Project Manager will be responsible for management of key projects with the goal of delivering every project on time, within budget and scope.  While working as part of the Project Management Office they will be responsible for successful planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure of projects. The IT Project Manager will be expected to acquire resources and coordinate the efforts of team members in order to deliver projects according to plan.  Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

    • Lead and manage multiple enterprise-level projects simultaneously through the entire system development life cycle
    • Execute projects from initiation, planning, development, testing to closing
    • Ensure all projects’ milestones are completed on-time, within scope, and within budget
    • Assist in the definition and documentation of project scope and S.M.A.R.T objectives, involving relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
    • Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes
    • Develop and own full scale project plans to monitor an track progress
      • Define roles and responsibilities
      • Resolve complex, interdependent activities into tasks and sub-tasks that are documented, monitored and controlled
      • Plan and schedule timelines and milestones
      • Ensure resources availability and allocation
      • Delegate tasks and responsibilities appropriately
      • Schedule, coordinate, and manage testing and deployment phases
      • Solidify budget details
      • Identify issues, risks, and mitigation strategies
    • Organize and lead project status and working meetings
    • Effectively convey project goals, objectives, and expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely, clear, and compelling fashion
      • Deliver progress updates regularly
      • Ensure open communication amongst project team
      • Communicate with senior leadership across all areas of the organization
    • Facilitate daily scrums, user stories, sprint planning and sprint reviews
    • Implement an effective system of project governance
    • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
    • Present reports defining plans, problems, and resolutions to appropriate levels of management
    • Listen effectively and clarify information as needed
    • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
    • Conduct post-project review to discuss and document successes and lessons-learned for future projects

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Independently manages multiple concurrent multifaceted and complex technology projects that are large in size, scope, budget, and/or impact, including all aspects of process development and execution
  • Undergraduate degree (required) or Master degree (preferred) in the field of Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Management or related discipline with a technical focus.
  • PMI certification as a PMP or professional certification by an accredited institute of higher learning is preferred
  • 10+ years direct work experience with demonstrated success
  • 7+ years direct PM experience managing app development, infrastructure, Business Intelligence, and/or digital marketing projects
  • 7+ years direct PM experience managing Projects with budgets greater than $500K
  • 7+ years supporting a formal Project Management Office (including continuous process improvement)
  • 3+ years mentoring and/or coaching Project Managers I or II
  • 5+ years managing offshore teams
  • 7+ year experienced communicating/managing stakeholder up to the C level
  • Program Management experience is an added advantage
  • Ability to motivate Project teams
  • Onboard new Project team members
  • Excel at conflict management/resolution
  • Negotiate Project resources with direct functional manager
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Expert knowledge of finance management, planning and schedule development
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models (SDLC)
  • Solid experience enhancing documentation, processes, projects, and tool sets
  • Expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional waterfall project management principles and practices
  • Mastery of various software programs and tools including MS Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Visio / SharePoint
  • Solid understanding of the full life cycle of the QA process (Functional, Performance, Regression testing, etc.)
  • Superior listening, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to read communication styles of team members who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines
  • Demonstrated success using project management software, such as MS Project and/or Smartsheet
  • Must be experienced communicating with all levels including Executive leadership
  • Must be able to adapt approach to the context and constraints of each project, knowing that no "one size" can fit all the variety of projects
  • Organized with a keen attention to detail
  • Capable of working both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environments
  • Possess talent for handling shifting priorities / demands / timelines and effectively executing tasks in a high-pressure environment. It is crucial that candidate be able to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
