The IT Director, Corporate Applications will work closely with a diverse group of corporate business partners - including Human Resources, Finance, Learning & Development, Corporate Communications, Legal & Compliance, Corporate Real Estate, Supply Chain, and Financial Planning & Analysis - in meeting technology needs. The IT Director, Corporate Applications will act as the primary liaison between IT and functional leaders as well as lead the Corporate Applications team (10-25 FTEs and Contractors) in defining scope, prioritizing and implementing systems projects. This position is responsible for all phases of the software development life cycle: Leads managers, business analysts, architects, developers, and application leads through collection of business requirements, documentation of business requirements, system design, QA, UAT and release of application software changes to production. We are looking for a passionate technology leader who has successfully built and led geographically distributed (internal and vendor partner resources) software development and SaaS/Software Package implementation teams. We are also looking for a player/coach who is willing to roll their sleeves up, and dive into coaching and mentoring a team of passionate individuals.

 

Responsibilities

  • Leadership of Corporate Applications leaders & team members including goal setting, providing direction, mentoring. Detailed resource planning, allocation & forecasting. Ensure consistent processes for support & development including time tracking, task allocation, backup & succession planning, training and mentoring. Create Development plans for staff to align with organization & department vision. Build a high performing team, foster open communication, and transparency, highest level of integrity, trust & collaboration within & across the departments.
  • Strategy, delivery and support for Finance/Accounting, HR, Training, Corp Legal, Compliance and Construction application portfolio reporting into the VP of IT Business Applications. Understand and anticipate current & future business requirements, needs, and market dynamics & industry landscape and define short-term and long-term strategy and roadmap for the portfolio.
  • Manage budget for the area including forecasting, planning, rigorous tracking.
  • Ensure that the portfolio is on the right technological platform. Identify & implement opportunities for portfolio & technology rationalization. Enable actionable intelligence & integration across the portfolio. Ensure that programs, initiatives & projects are delivered on time and within budget. Manage risks appropriately & plan proactive mitigation.
  • Overall responsibility for serving as the strategic IT interface with business units for the purpose of business/IT strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management and relationship management. Serve as the business relationship linkage between the business units and IT (at the leadership/executive level). Maintain key executive level relationship between senior business executives across all revenue systems & IT, ensure highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for leading implementation of large scale enterprise solution such as HCM/FIN/SCM solution, Learning Management solution, Intranet/corporate communication tools, relevant pieces of Practice Management System including overall program planning, vendor management, requirement management, development, testing, implementation and post-production support & maintenance by partnering with Director/Manager of Integration and Enterprise PMO.
  • Manage key vendor relationships including contract negotiations, pricing & evaluation of current & potential partnerships
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Minimum Education and Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience effectively leading project teams and 5+ years of experience at Sr. Manager or Director level in multi-unit business environment
  • At least 10 years of experience with Finance, HR and Supply chain systems including process expertise with General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Budgeting, Billing, Fixed Assets, Human Capital, Recruitment, etc.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing finance and HR applications such as SAP, Workday, Ultipro, Oracle ERP Finance Cloud, ADP, Great Plains etc. At least one full cycle implementation of a large scale HCM/FIN solution.
  • Highly motivated, skilled in multi-tasking and strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Exceptional people leadership, relationship building ability, demonstrated prioritization and negotiation skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in areas of uncertainty, ambiguity and conflict to focus and deliver against business goals
  • Track record of taking ownership and driving results

 

Required Education:

  • BS degree (MBA or MS preferred) or equivalent experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One or more of PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum certifications
  • Confidence to challenge conventional thinking; ability to independently manage ambiguity and drive/thrive on change.
  • Background in Healthcare or Retail industry
