Employee Relations Specialist - Remote

As a reflection of our continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity to join our Field Human Resource team as a Division Director of Human Resources.


The Employee Relations Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert to advise Employees and Leaders on the proper procedure in handling employment matters and issues including employee relations, performance management, and employment law matters. Influences others regarding policies, practices, and procedures. Develops human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information, presenting, and recommending courses of action.


  • Partner with Practice Support Center and Field leaders and Practice Owners to resolve Employee Relations and HR issues.
  • Coach/advise employees and management through sensitive HR issues to resolve conflict and seek workable solutions.
  • Interact with all levels of leadership regarding legal compliance, discipline, terminations, and negotiated separations.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, management, and various agencies at all levels of the organization; use reason and de-escalation skills to manage difficult or emotional situations; present facts and recommendations verbally and in writing.
  • Investigate work-related or compliance issues and prepares summary reports, conclusions and recommendations.
  • Provide advice and counsel to supervisors on employee team member issues as they relate to compliance with regulations and laws.
  • Manage pre-employment background check process with hiring managers and Practice Owners. Communicate results and work through resolution (hire/not hire) of reports that are returned with a criminal history.
  • Contribute to creating and updating company policies and educate business partners (team members and managers) around HR policies and procedures.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Respond to any Human Resources related inquires including, subpoenas, and other legal requests.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Manage work maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality. Work with a great deal of independent discretion in decision making and execution of responsibilities.
  • Maintain related Employee paperwork, legal documentation and employee complaints and resolution

Minimum Education and Experience

  • 5-7 years of Human Resources experience with direct experience managing and resolving Employee Relations issues.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or related field required.
  • Thorough knowledge of current Federal and State employment laws
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of employees and demonstrate adaptable speaking and listening skills in a variety of situations
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
