Compensation Specialist

As a reflection of our current needs and planned growth, we are very pleased to offer an opportunity to join our growing Human Resources team as the Compensation Specialist.  This position is responsible for supporting core compensation policies, programs, and processes (including job evaluation, salary structure development, survey participation, incentive plan design, and associated analysis).  Under the direction of the Vice President, Human Resources Operations, the Compensation Specialist work with human resource business partners and collaborate with other functional partners in support of the company’s continued growth strategy, business objectives, and talent acquisition and retention goals.

  • Support the development and management of compensation programs and initiatives, including administration, communication, and training enablers.
  • Run various workforce analyses and create high-level summary results to support executive leadership presentations and decision processes.
  • Ensure compensation plans and processes comply with all current federal and state regulations and requirements, including reporting and required disclosures.
  • Develop, deploy, and manage market-based compensation structures for field operations and support functions, to include standard job descriptions, ranges, level guide charts, and geographic area differentials.
  • Conduct individual and group salary analyses using market-based evaluation methods, ensuring requests for pay adjustments comply with current compensation policy.
  • Conduct specific job evaluations; determining pay level and FLSA status.
  • Support HR business partners in compensation programs, process, and ad hoc actions.
  • Ensure the tools (HRIS and external service providers) are in place to effectively manage compensation planning and administration.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • A minimum of two years of experience in and comprehensive knowledge of compensation, preferably with program and/or project management experience.
  • BS or BA degree with concentration in business management, finance, accounting, human resources or related field.
  • Experience managing compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience sourcing and managing salary benchmarking surveys, including job matching, survey submissions, comparative reviews, and payline analyses.
  • A data-driven mindset and strong demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization and customer service skills to effectively follow-up on complex and detailed work activities.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment, with the ability to navigate complex issues while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • High-level of proficiency in MS Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
