As a reflection of our current needs and planned growth, we are very pleased to offer an opportunity to join our growing Human Resources team as the Compensation Manager.  This position is responsible for managing core compensation policies, programs, and processes (including job evaluation, salary structure development, survey participation, incentive plan design, and associated analysis).  Under the direction of the Vice President, Human Resources Operations, the Compensation Manager will interface with human resource business partners and collaborate with other functional partners in support of the company’s continued growth strategy, business objectives, and talent acquisition and retention goals.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the internal equity and external competitiveness of the company’s compensation practices through ongoing evaluation of business conditions, legal requirements, economic impact and competitive practices. Ensure programs are market-competitive and aligned with organizational and people strategies.
  • Develop and manage a contemporary and company-relevant market pricing process, to include alignment of appropriate external benchmark surveys to internal positions and enablers to support readily available comparative analysis.
  • Develop, deploy, and manage market-based compensation structures for field operations and support functions, to include standard job descriptions, ranges, level guide charts, and geographic area differentials.
  • Conduct individual and group salary analyses using market-based evaluation methods, ensuring requests for pay adjustments comply with current compensation policy.
  • Conduct specific job evaluations; determining pay level and FLSA status.
  • Plan, implement, and manage compensation programs and initiatives, including administration, communication, and training enablers.
  • Partner with the recruiting team to develop competitive offers for new hires and existing employees; rooted in market data and aligned with the company’s compensation philosophy.
  • Work with HR business partners to advise and influence business leaders in compensation strategy, programs, process, and ad hoc actions.
  • Handle compensation-related needs associated with future growth/acquisitions, including assessing compensation plans and transition needs, and performing due diligence around practices of targeted acquisitions.
  • Ensure compensation plans and processes comply with all current federal and state regulations and requirements, including reporting and required disclosures.
  • Ensure the tools (HRIS and external service providers) are in place to effectively manage compensation planning and administration.
  • Run various workforce analyses and create high-level summary results to support executive leadership presentations and decision processes.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • A minimum of five years of increasingly responsible experience in and comprehensive knowledge of compensation, including a minimum of two years of program and/or project management experience.
  • BS or BA degree with concentration in business management, finance, accounting, human resources or related field.
  • Experience managing compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience sourcing and managing salary benchmarking surveys, including job matching, survey submissions, comparative reviews, and payline analyses.
  • Proven capable of working with a dispersed, customer facing workforce (retail, hospitality, consumer/healthcare services).
  • A data-driven mindset and strong demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills – ability to influence, drive decisions and lead discussions utilizing data.
  • An understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization and customer service skills to effectively follow-up on complex and detailed work activities.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment, with the ability to navigate complex issues while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • High-level of proficiency in MS Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
