Financial Reporting Analyst

Aspen Dental Management, Inc. is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst who is interested in joining a fast-paced environment.  Individuals qualified for this position will be an integral part of the month end close and financial reporting processes. This position is responsible for the building, maintenance, and preparation of the Company’s standard and ad hoc financial reporting on a monthly and on-going basis.  In addition, this position must be able to provide a high level of service to all customers throughout the organization.  The position is ideal for individuals that have excellent communication skills, and are looking to develop their financial reporting skills in a growing company.  This position reports directly to the Director of Financial Reporting.


  • Analyze current and historical financial data and performance to identify trends and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Accumulation and analysis of data to prepare ad hoc reporting as discussed with department leadership.
  • Ongoing maintenance of the Company’s financial reporting application.  Includes updating hierarchy member descriptions, attributes, rollups, and the resulting changes to reporting.
  • Maintenance of existing reporting and building new reporting in the Company’s financial reporting application as needed.
  • Preparation of the Company’s standard monthly reporting.  Includes reports such as balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other operational reporting that will be used for internal and external users.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements in the financial reporting processes.
  • Participate in report development efforts to increase automation and improve transparency.
  • Make recommendations to reduce or control risk in financial reporting processes.
  • Aid in the preparation of audited financial statements on an annual basis.
  • Preparation of spend analysis to be completed during the financial statement close process.
  • Perform monthly checks on reporting throughout the close process to determine the proper recording of journal entries as it relates to the Company’s consolidating rollup.
  • Some clerical duties, which will include the production of monthly financial reporting books.
  • Meeting all assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with quality standards by pre-determined deadlines.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Education level: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of general accounting experience

  • Self-motivated individual with leadership qualities

  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, most notably Excel
