Hygienists
Upon joining the Aspen Dental network, Hygienists participate in an intensive, three-day orientation program at our Practice Support Center, where they learn more about the tools and resources that help drive success. The program covers a wide range of topics, from the clinical (periodontal protocols, automated dental/periodontal charting, patient education strategies) to the administrative (schedule management, ordering supplies, intranet resources).
Another key area of focus is on building a cohesive team -- Hygienists learn how to effectively interact with personalities in their office, including doctors, office managers and other members of the office team. Representatives from some of our key vendors, Zila Pharmaceuticals, Discus Dental, GC America and Orapharma are also available to provide updates on products and technologies. Following training, Hygienists can continue to connect with one another, sharing questions and best practices via Aspen Dental’s interactive message board.
We invest more than $6 million in training and professional development programs annually. And each year, more than 500 doctors, hygienists, regional and office managers (OMs) travel to the Practice Support Center to take advantage of various developmental programs in our state-of-the-art training facility. We also deliver training to your doorstep – members of the training and development team travel around the country to conduct on-site training in Aspen Dental offices.
What sets our program apart? It’s our team of seasoned professionals, who bring more than 100 years of combined operations, clinical and classroom facilitations experience. In fact, our training and development team recently received the CNY BEST Learning and Performance award from the American Society for Training and Development in recognition of excellence in learning and performance practices that link learning to strategic growth.Our research shows that these programs work – clinicians and managers who go through our training program demonstrate improvements in key areas like treatment plan acceptance and patient scheduling.
